Tom grew up in central Pennsylvania and really enjoys living in the area. He was blessed to be raised in a christian home and he accepted Christ as a young child. He was baptised at MBC and began serving God as a teenager through visitation. Growing up at MBC since he was 6 years old has given him a heart for the people of MBC.
Tom graduated from high school and attended Penn State graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Design & Construction Engineering. He is currently a registered professional engineer in the transportation industry.
In 2004 he married his wife Joy and they have three daughters, Selah, Kalyn and Leena. Tom works with the AV Tech team, website building, Adopt-A-Highway, and New Movers Evangelism ministries. Together they lead the Young Families Small Group and Joy also serves at the church as the secretary and treasurer.
Jim was born and raised in northern Pennsylvania and was privileged to have been raised in a Christian home. In July of 1966 Jim trusted Christ as his Savior at Montrose Bible Conference. At the age of 17 he fully committed himself to the Lord’s service.
After graduating from Cameron County high School he enrolled for the fall semester at Liberty University (1973). The four years he attended Liberty University were instrumental in preparing him to be a full-time Pastor. Through the years Jim has served in various ministries (Interim Pastor, Youth Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, School Teacher, and bus worker).
The Lord called Jim to MBC in January of 1996. He considers it a privilege to serve the Lord and the people of MBC. Jim has been married to his wife, Sue, since 1977 and they have four children.
Khyle was blessed to grow up in a Christian family in Lancaster County. As a result of his parent's influence and their home churches ministry he became a disciple of Jesus Christ at a young age.
After graduating from high school Khyle committed himself to full time ministry and began attending Lancaster Bible College studying youth ministry. He graduated in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Bible Ministry. It was while at LBC that Khyle met his wife Danna. Danna shares Khyle's passion for youth and children's ministry as well as a burden for women's ministry. Khyle and Danna were married in 2006, have a son Samuel and a daughter Riley.
Khyle began serving in January 2010 at MBC as the Youth and Children's Pastor. He is excited about what God can do in and through the people of MBC.
Jim was born and raised in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. He was raised with a strong Christian influence and accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 14. At a young age Jim began helping out in various activities such as Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. That tradition continues today as Jim is the teacher of the Young Adults / College and Career Class.
The second best event in Jim's life (after his salvation) was meeting and marrying his wife, Donna. They were married in 1982 and are the proud parents of 3 children. Donna is the church organist. Both Jim and Donna sing on the church Praise Team. They both have a passion for Christ with a specific emphasis on families.
Mike was born and raised in Lebanon County and came to know the Lord at a young age. He was active in the youth program in the church he grew up in and spent two summers as a teen working for Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Since then he has served as the youth director for three area churches over the years. Mike and his wife Michele were married in 1998 and have two children, Hannah and Audrey.
Since coming to Myerstown Baptist Church Mike has been involved in the youth ministry and Mike and Michele host a small group.
Thomas Smith, Deacon - Secretary
Thomas was raised in church as a child. His mother made sure he went as far back as he can remember. Whenever the doors were open he was there. He gave his heart to Jesus Christ when he was 10 years old. When he was 13 years old he sensed the call to full-time ministry and surrendered to that call at a revival service a short time later. The rest is history. He watched as God orchestrated the events and passions in his life molding him into a man of God whose purpose is to serve Him and others.
Although his spiritual journey has been littered with ups, downs, failures, and successes, God confirms in his life daily that he is right where he is supposed to be…doing ministry. His present job is serving in a ministry that disciples men whose lives are broken. His service to our church is serving as part of the church leadership team, missions committee, as well as a Sunday school teacher. He is thankful that the Lord has seen it fit for him to serve Him and that He provides many avenues in which to do this in.
Bucky was saved when he was 14 years old but didn't do much for the Lord until he was 21 and married.
Together with his wife, Dottie, they attended Lindale Baptist Church, teaching the 7th and 8th grade kids and led youth at the church. They relocated to another section of Cincinnati and joined Tri-County Baptist Church where Bucky was one of the adult Sunday School teachers and also served as a deacon. Dot also taught the teen girls. Together they served there with Pastor Lew Davis for 38 years until they moved to Myerstown in 2008.
At MBC, Dot teaches the 3rd-5th graders and together they lead a small group. Currently, Bucky serves as a deacon which he consideres to be a great privilege and blessing. God is blessing Myerstown Baptist Church and they are excited about what He has in store for MBC in the future.
